Why do I share Solar Energy?

Earlier this spring my brother went into his own Solar rep company after working for some other companies and doing the whole door-to-door sales experience. My brother spent 2 hours at my house explaining the benefits of Solar, projecting savings that we will get based on the annual utility rising rates, and going over the Federal tax credit and the State incentive for Pennsylvania.

It was A LOT of information and honestly wasn't the easiest to understand. But I was determined to research it and ask him LOTS of questions. He helped us to understand the technology which is really very simple. 

I honestly only took the appointment with my brother to help encourage him and give him practice teaching, answering questions and helping people sign up for solar for their home. Little did I know that our home was so well suited for solar that with the system he designed using Palmetto Solar we could save over $40,000 in electric bills over the next 25 years. 

We worked with Isaiah (my brother) at Solar University to get set up with a Palmetto Solar system for our home. We have a great location with no shade and have already since our start date of May 1, 2023 produced 5,419 kWh of electricity for our home. Palmetto was great to deal with and helped us with all the logistics of dealing with PP&L (our current electric provider) to get everything converted over with the addition of solar on our home. Their staff was super on day of installation and had us all done and installed in 1 day! And it wasn't just 9am - 5pm. They came around 7am and they didn't leave until dark. In fact they came back the next day to make sure everything was all the way they wanted it and went over the logistics with us. 

We have now been having solar operational on our home for about 5 months and our average bill is around $15.50 a month! That means that our solar is producing what we use for electric energy in our home and we aren't having to get electric from PP&L. Our average bill before the switch was around $80-$100 a month. Huge difference!

We love knowing that by using the sun and our solar panels we can provide the electric necessary for our home to operate. We aren't relying on PP&L to do that for us and paying high energy bills every month.
