Hard Boiled Eggs - Easy to Peel

How To Make

I've been looking for years for the best way to make hard boiled eggs that are easy to peel. Finally found the way! We love hard boiled eggs on our salads and when we make egg salad. Sometimes even just plain by itself.

To hard boil eggs for easy peeling, the key is to quickly cool them in an ice bath right after boiling, which helps separate the egg white from the shell membrane, making peeling much smoother; you can also try using slightly older eggs, adding a bit of salt to the boiling water, and gently tapping the eggs on a hard surface before peeling.

Instructions

  • Start with cold water: Place eggs in a pot with cold water.
  • Bring to a boil: Heat the water until it reaches a rolling boil.
  • Cook for the desired time: Depending on the egg size, cook for around to 7-10 minutes. I boil mine for 10 minutes.
  • Ice bath: Immediately transfer the boiled eggs to a bowl of ice water to rapidly cool them down.
  • When cooled down tap shell and peel.
